Our team of Independent Supporters in Cambridgeshire were overjoyed when they were announced as the “Best Team/Organisation” for their work supporting parents, carers and young people through the Education, Health and Care Plan process. The award was presented at the annual Pinpoint Cambridgeshire Parent Carer Forum Conference on 1st February, 2018.  Donna Sparrow, Independent Supporter, tells us more:

“We feel very flattered to have been chosen by parents and carers, who had simply been asked who had provided the best support to them over the past year. Hanna, Lucy, Laura and I were all really honoured to go up and receive the award on behalf of the Core Assets Children’s Services Independent Support team in Cambridgeshire. We had no idea that this was a possibility and were all rather stunned when it was announced. We went up to the stage in front of the conference gathering of 80 parent/carers and many professionals and stallholders to receive the award from Mrunal Sisodia, Co-Chair of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums.

Our team have attended the Pinpoint Conference every year, they are a really great Parent Carer Forum who have always promoted our service and made parents and carers aware of what we do to ensure they receive the support they are entitled to. We are all truly proud of the work we do and it is just wonderful to receive this recognition.”
