Core Assets Children’s Services are working on behalf of Family Fund to carry out assessment visits

24th July 2017

Family Fund are the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill young people. They provide grants for a wide range of items such as white goods, sensory toys, short breaks, clothing and computers. Last year, Family Fund provided 88,119 grants or services worth over £33 million to families across the UK.

Each grant request differs from family to family and this also includes unique requests including a goat to allow a family access to fresh milk, a wheelchair accessible tent and camping equipment and sky diving lessons! Once a grant request has been received our team of workers will visit the family to discuss their application in further detail and complete an assessment report discussing how best to meet their needs and ensure eligibility.

We have been providing this incredibly rewarding service since 2015 and cover England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales supporting well over 1000 applications. Visits are undertaken in the family home with the child or young person present and generally last for one hour.

We are always on the lookout for new staff to undertake these assessment visits, with full training and support given. If you would be interested in undertaking Family Fund Assessment visits and would like some further information, please visit the vacancy on our Jobs page, here.
